School CrisiS Prevention, Intervention, & Response
School Crisis Consultants offer evidence-based training and consultative services to districts and schools, helping to bolster school safety and promote student well-being.
What is a school crisis?
A school crisis as something that is extremely negative, generates feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, powerlessness, or entrapment, and is sudden, unexpected, and occurs without warning (Brock, 2002).
Crises in a school setting can range from impacting one individual to an entire community. Students can experience individual crises, such as having intense feelings of suicide. Crises can impact an entire school, such as a threat of mass violence or the death of a beloved staff member. Crises can affect a community as a whole, such as natural disasters.
